Coos Log Jam 2018!
Pack yer bags! We're going bike packing! Come join the Coos Cycling Club for an 80ish mile one-nighter in northern New Hampshire's Great North Woods. Here's the scoop....
Day one will start at Hub North in Gorham, NH and cruise north on scenic gravel roads and sporty double track. After about 40 miles you'll roll into a festive camp on the banks of the mighty Androscoggin River where you'll chomp down yummy apps followed by an even yummier dinner. As usual Moat Mountain Smoke House and Brewing will hook you up with tasty beverages to cap the day!
Day two will start with coffee and pastries from the White Mtn Cafe and whatever weird stuff you
brought along to get you through the day. Expect another 40+ miles on day 2 that may even end with some single track, eventually leading you back to Hub North.
This event is meant to be an intro into the world of bike packing as well as a test to see what kind of interest there is in the sport. There will be awards for good attitudes and speed (and perhaps costumes); there will be a clock, but not a serious one.
The self supported portion of this event means that you will need to carry all your overnight camping
gear, clothes, snacks for both days, a breakfast item and water. A note on water, we will send you off both days with a full tank, but there will be no aid stations and refills could be suspect so it might be smart to bring along purification. Day 2 might have a quick pavement section that hits a store...might.
There's the details, now go get on it.
